This toucan was made with the intentions of selling it. However, sometimes there are surprises while firing glass in a kiln! During the first firing there was a big bubble to the right of the bird and above the branch, so I broke it and patched the hole with new glass pieces. The patch job worked fine but the second firing created a second bubble to the left of the bird (it looks like a dark, round shadow near the top of the left wing). So this is a keeper! I now have the piece gracing my living room and will enjoy looking at it.
Now it is time to try again and solve the problem of bubbles.
